James Clarke (aka LivePianoMan) comes to ArtSees Diner by way of Newcastle, UK. We are thrilled to welcome this multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter as a featured guest to the Diner. A music production graduate. James is also, a part-time radio DJ.
James spent most of 2009 in his home studio creating the debut album “Unintentional” which is out now on iTunes, Napster, Amazon MP3. On first listen you will be surprised to learn that James has not had any piano lessons and cannot read music, yet he plays every instrument on each of his original songs.
The LivePianoMan sound can be compared to the likes of Ben Folds and Keane with a touch of retro influence from Neil Young and Bob Dylan
“Unintentional” showcases James’ exceptional talent as a pianist and singer. His song writing carries you on a journey through various seasons and emotions, from the low moody “October” to the summer anthem “Breathe Sea Air”. (Read a review of "Unintentional" here)
James now focuses his attention on his new band “My Other Life”, all members recruited exclusively on a local music forum. Some songs from the solo album remain in the band’s set list along with many new exciting songs that really pack a punch. “My Other Life” demonstrates some of James’ strongest songwriting to date. Much to the delight of James’ ever growing fan base, “My Other Life” are set to hit the stage mid May with a studio EP soon after. Keep a look out, be sure to catch this band, these guys are destined for big things!
