Strides, A Labor of Love

Strides is a gift of love. The video below captures the first time the song Strides was ever performed, and only 3 days after it was written. Divinely inspired, the song carries the message of hope, love and tenacity of spirit. The video following it was made to honor the spirit found in women who take life in stride. LaLuna Strides was written in 2008 for a concert that The Steve and Mary Show, hosted to raise awareness about breast cancer. It was held at Washington Park Michigan City, Indiana. The song reflects the strength in overcoming the unthinkable. It reflects the simple grace shown in those who perservere and walk on through the storm "holding on to hope and dreaming too." The women reflected in this video show the joy in the journey. Each one has a story of triumph amidst tragedy. Strides, although written to raise awareness about breast cancer, tells a much greater story. Whether overcoming the loss of a loved one, discovering a lump, or battling illness, being able to stand up and take a step, even one more step we are all on a journey, and in the end it is love that sees us through!
