Simply Love
Amidst all the sad, traumatic and often harrowing events we see
around the world and sometimes in our own lives day by day,
still I believe that Love is with us -
Love, that indefinable thing that so many poets have written about
and countless songs have sprung from.
Someone recently told me that in addition to being the
'soulful voice of blues' I can rightly be called
'Queen of the Heartfelt Song'
and certainly I have lots of life experiences which pour themselves
into my songs and emerge as melodies
which seem to reach people.
Often, these are songs of love that went wrong,
or at least that did not work out as it should have done.
But there is the sublime side of love, the happy and fulfilling kind of
love, that magic that can and does happen between two people for no
apparent reason, and often defying all logic.
It is a kind of magic as someone said once, but not only that, it is also
an immense source of strength and comfort, from the assurance that
comes with knowing one other person in the world loves you as much
