Because of a Child

Childhood dreams and mistletoe

I have a dream of Christmas snow

It’s not the way it use to be

The world it got the best of me

But all that’s going to change

It’s time for me to rearrange

So I’m driving back down Evergreen

To capture window candle light

I’m driving back down Evergreen tonight

Remember giggles, smiles so bright

I’m going back where I belong

To hear my favorite Christmas songs

Merry Christmas Darling, we’re apart that’s true

But everyday’s a holiday,  when I’m near to you

Silver bells, Silver Bells,

I hear the harmony, feel the rhyme

A child is born and to us it’s true

Now, the story starts anew

Childhood dreams and mistletoe

I have a dream of Christmas snow,

I’m driving back down Evergreen

To capture what I left behind

Back to Childlike fantasies

With Magi dreams, midnight mild

My world has changed, because of a child

Because of a Child

  A Baby makes the difference.

As we look to the New Year, we cannot help but be drawn into memories of seasons past.  A flurry of days gone by, whether recent days, days of our youth, days of old, they mesmerize.  We are lured into a trance by our memories.  Feelings, lingering of past relationships, sights, sounds, it blankets us like a new snow. The sound of silence sings us into hibernation.  The settling down to a long winter’s nap takes a hold of even the most extreme dyed in the wool Scrooge.

At a time when we are falling into a quasi-cerebral sleep, it is an infant’s cry that awakens man’s heart.  Calls us awake, and proclaims, be ready, beyond the silence of the first snowfall, and the dreamy eyed trance of the early stage of sleep, there is a stirring in man-kind.  A winter rose is about to bloom, a child is entering into our lives.  A baby, a sign that life goes on, and love is the eternal language that sets man free, from this birth is a promise, a sign that from life, comes life.

I witnessed my baby, have a baby.  From my womb a child, from her womb a child, the passing on of traditions, and love and life, and life goes on.

The Magi sought epiphanies, they witnessed the Divine we are told, let every day of the coming year be filled with epiphanies.  Seek the wonder in the tiniest of splendors for there you will find your Joy!
